Anne Pro Review

For those who are new to mechanical keyboards, buying a prebuilt keyboard is a reasonable option, since the cost and the time/effort that we have to spend in order to build a fully functioning mechanical keyboard can be extremely high at times.

I purchased this keyboard mainly because of the bluetooth functionality. I have a Mac and a PC, so that I can connect the keyboard to both of my setup without plugging in and out the cable.

Price

The MSRP on Amazon was $89 when I bought it back in 2018. I think it is a reasonable price for a board that is fully customizable and has Bluetooth connectivity. If you could find it from a Chinese vendor, you might be able to snatch one for a lower price (~$60)

What’s in the Box

  • Anne Pro keyboard
  • Keycap Puller
  • Bluetooth dongle
  • Cable

Size

Typical 60% layout. No arrow keys.
4″ deep, 11.5″ long, 1.75″ tall
There’s no feet attachment to raise the board’s height, but I think this board is already quite tall enough for normal usage

Build Quality

Anne Pro’s build quality is very sollid. Plates and PCB are nice and thick. Even the screws that hold the PCB are machinery screws.
I do feel a little disappointed with case being plastic. I would prefer a wood or metal case, but for a sub $100 pre-built board, this is to be expected.

Software & Customizing

Anne Pro does not come with any software CD in the box, but you can download it on Obins website, here is the link

ObinsKit Screenshots

This software allow you to update firmware, customize RGB lightning , and customize layout. You can reassign a key to anything you want!

The software is great. It detects the keyboard right after I installed and works straight out of the box without any problem.

However, it can only detect the Anne Pro by USB. It won’t work over Bluetooth. This is something I would like to see when Obins improve their software.

Customer Service & Support

Anne Pro on Amazon has superb customer service. I personally had issue with the the board at first (Bluetooth occasionally drops connection). Upon contacting customer service, they shipped to me a replacement straight away (overnight shipping)

Conclusion

With a reasonable price tag, great build quality, RGB, software support, and great customer service, I would definitely recommend the Anne Pro to everyone. I think it’s great for those who just joins the mechanical keyboard community. The 60% layout means you have to learn a few shortcuts before you get comfortable with it. But once you get used to it, you will love it. The feel and the quality of the keyboard makes you forget about all the inconveniences of shortcuts. Anne Pro is a great product and I would definitely look forward to Anne Pro 2 and 3.
